This pushed Romania’s economic growth rate to 3.5% in 2013, one of the best in Europe.
Dacia was acquired by Renault in 1999 and sold 289,016 vehicles in the EU last year, a 23% rise in sales and the biggest of any brand. This was helped by a gap in the market created by other car manufacturers increasing in price.
