The Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix is the backdrop for the first sighting of All-New Mégane Renault Sport driven by Renault Sport F1 Team driver Nico Hülkenberg. To meet customer demand, All-New Megane Renault Sport will be offered with a choice of manual or EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) transmissions.
Patrice Ratti, Managing Director of Renault Sport Cars, said: “I don’t think we could have chosen a more appropriate or more impactful moment than the 40th anniversary of Renault’s involvement in F1 to launch a new model. We aim to make All-New Mégane R.S. the new compact sports car benchmark.”
Nico Hülkenberg provided a glimpse of the All-New Mégane Renault Sport on the track at Monaco but it was not his first time behind the wheel, as he explains: “I got an opportunity to test All-New Mégane R.S. during its development and I was hooked first time out by the excellence of its chassis. Renault Sport has done a tremendous job on its performance credentials. It was a huge pleasure to drive it around the legendary street track at Monaco today”.
Since the launch of the original Mégane Renault Sport in 2004, the model’s mission has always been to embody Renault’s passion for motorsport and make racing technology DNA an affordable reality for all. Renault Sport’s experts have once again used F1-derived technologies to produce a truly exceptional package of efficient aerodynamics, reliability, road holding and high performance.
All-New Mégane Renault Sport will be unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show on 12th September, before going on sale in Spring 2018.
